7. Before his presidency began, he thought he would die three times
While his death is by far one of the worst moments in America’s history, he was afraid he would die years before he became president. On three consecutive occasions, when it was believed that he would soon pass away, he received his last rites.
Two of the major incidents were connected to Addison’s disease, which every doctor at the time believed might be fatal. The third time everybody in the family thought they were going to lose him was when he got into a coma because of an infection while he was in surgery for his back. Of course, everything was kept secret, and nobody except his relatives knew about it.
8. One of his hobbies was drawing
Besides being a good writer, John F. Kennedy also loved to draw. He doodled every time he had the chance to; from boats to staircases and other sketches, the former president enjoyed filling the margins of his notes with small drawings.
Even some of his drawings have been sold at auction, where buyers place bids on items.
