5. Jacqueline Kennedy didn’t rush to accept his marriage proposal

Jackie was a very talented and independent woman before she married John. This is one of the things many people don’t know about their marriage. She did not give up easily; during the time he proposed to her, Jacqueline took some time to think about it, mostly because she was a very successful writer at that time.

She gave herself some space to evaluate the details and his proposal before accepting it, as well as some time afterward. On September 12, 1953, they exchanged vows in Rhode Island. Little did she know that this was going to be a bumpy ride because JFK had several affairs during their marriage. However, they never separated and remained married for 10 years until his death.

6. His Harvard admission essay was extremely short

One would say that a determined person won’t dodge a question regarding their future. This was also the case for John F. Kennedy, who wrote only five sentences regarding his wish to enter Harvard. While other people will try to impress the council to admit them, he gave them a short response.

He also applied to Princeton University, and the application letter was pretty similar to the one for Harvard.
