Did you know Elon Musk invented these things?

Today, this man is usually among the top news stories of the day. We all know Elon Musk, but do we know precisely what he does and has done? Besides electric cars, Musk has invented several impressive things that help us in our daily lives.

Elon Musk is a highly controversial figure; he enjoys being in the public eye, and we can say this because he speaks his mind without holding back. He is also an extremely influential individual who can impact the stock market with a snap of his fingers.

We don’t need to say much about his net worth because he is the richest person in the world, although his wealth fluctuates depending on his ventures. At one point, he stated that he doesn’t consider himself the richest person because those who financially support wars surely have trillions.

In this article, we will discuss 10 fascinating inventions that have changed the course of the 21st century thanks to Elon Musk. Keep reading to find out what they are. Don’t forget to leave a comment in our section to share your opinion!

1. SpaceX, Falcon rocket

If you’re wondering why rockets couldn’t be used for transportation, given that we have the necessary resources to build them, I must tell you that they couldn’t be reused, and that’s why this capability didn’t exist until now.

What Elon Musk aimed to achieve is precisely reusability! SpaceX‘s Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 are rockets that can be reused multiple times. Yes, they started with the idea of colonizing Mars. The project is not quite recent; it originated in 2002.

Both Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 have been approved by NASA and have received awards from them for transporting crew members to and from the ISS.

Unfortunately, the company faced a setback when the Falcon 9 exploded after liftoff. Since then, they no longer carry out transportation using these rockets. Musk stated that they have redesigned a metal bar that, according to him, caused the explosion, but without success.

2. X.com (PayPal) e-payments

Yes, you heard it right, PayPal is also Elon Musk’s invention. This man has had or still has some of the most lucrative and significant businesses in the world.

The company X.com was founded in 1999 and focused on financial services and email payments. The following year, Musk had a highly successful collaboration with Confinity, and they renamed it PayPal.

The new company experienced immense success because today, everyone benefits from this service. Of course, because the idea was so brilliant, in 2002, eBay acquired PayPal for $1.5 billion. From that amount, Musk took only $165 million.

Certainly, if he had held onto the business, he could have sold it for at least triple that amount today. Perhaps this is one of Elon Musk’s regrets, I know mine would be.

3. Tesla Motors, electric car

Most people know Musk as the inventor of the electric car, Tesla. This car is very popular among people. Although opinions are divided, I believe that this car is excellent and useful in today’s world.

Many people desire a Tesla, so the demand is very high. Yes, it is an expensive car, but what you get is of the highest quality. Elon Musk constantly develops new and exciting features for the car.

For those who didn’t know, in a Tesla car, you can even play games and change your horn sound to any song you desire. These things make you wonder if you’re getting both a car and a playground.

Tesla’s stocks always fluctuate, but don’t “worry,” Musk doesn’t become poor regardless of the company’s financial situation. Every year, Tesla becomes even wealthier.

4. SolarCity

The second-largest solar energy provider in America, SolarCity, is also an invention of Elon Musk. The business was founded in 2006, together with some of his cousins. And as you can see, it has thrived tremendously since then. In recent years, they have had revenues amounting to $730 billion.

SolarCity is based in California but produces energy for an additional 14 states and the District of Columbia. Another interesting thing to note is that the company offers free solar energy for charging stations along Route 101 (from San Francisco to Los Angeles).

5. Zip2, online city guides

It seems that not only Donald Trump can do a “small loan of a million dollars,” but Elon Musk and his brother, Kimbal Musk, as well. The two of them started this business with money borrowed from their father in 1995.

Zip2 is a software corporation primarily dedicated to assisting other businesses. It is used to establish an online presence for the respective businesses. It also provides online advertising, e-commerce, and content management tools.

In the early years of Zip2, it was considered one of the most beneficial companies for promoting other businesses and was among the first of its kind. Many large companies turned to this project because it was a brilliant idea.

6. Blastar, video game

He wasn’t famous, or a businessman, but he was a child prodigy. At the age of 12, Elon Musk created a revolutionary game called Blastar, which had a significant impact on the lives of children.

Many of us are familiar with that style of game where spaceships attack each other while traveling through space. Well, Musk is the one who coded that game.

At that time, he sold his game for $500. Being a child, he may not have realized how it could change the lives of children back then. However, even today, he continues to invent games in that style. And there is still an online version of the game available for those interested in it or just curious.

But this is not all of it! Continue to read to find out more about these amazing inventions!

7. Web-based phone calls

Yes, it was Elon Musk who came up with the idea of having telephone calls over the Internet. This man is a genius because his ideas are revolutionary in every way.

As early as 1997, Musk expressed his idea of creating a computer-based conversation to make calls to landlines. He realized his dream in 2001. In short, it is what we now call a Skype call.

8. Electric airplane

Perhaps it is currently only a concept, but the invention will become a reality if Musk says so. This invention aims to clean up the planet by reducing aircraft emissions.

Many other companies, such as MIT’s Aeronautics, have stated that Elon Musk is just talking nonsense and that such a thing cannot be created. However, Musk is not giving up on his idea, and at the beginning of 2023, he unveiled a plan for this electric airplane.

Whom should we believe? I trust in this genius because so far, he has accomplished what he set out to do and has not given up despite the skeptics.

9. Location-specific searches

Elon Musk’s ideas were highly innovative, and some of them were ahead of their time. In 1998, he envisioned that one day it would be of great interest for people to search for local businesses they might need.

The system he created initially involved finding specific stores on a map in the person’s area and being able to zoom out to see the overall map without losing the location. By doing this, many other pins would appear on the map indicating the type of store one was looking for.

10. Hyperloop

Now let’s turn to Elon Musk’s more recent ideas. Perhaps one of his most ambitious ideas is to create a very high-speed transportation system, specifically a hyperloop.

To give an overview, it is a transparent tube with extremely low air pressure that will reach speeds of over 800 miles per hour. Although this concept is still in the same stage since it was brought to the public’s attention, it sounds very daring.

All these inventions and ideas have impressed me because Elon Musk is far more influential than I initially thought before I delved into it. What is your opinion?
