Grand Teton, Wyoming
The mountains created Grand Teton National Park, where you can hike over 200 beautiful miles of trails, float down the Snake River, and enjoy the weather of this unique location.
Wildlife, including black and grizzly bears, can be found here, making it one of the most dangerous national parks in the US. Both thrive in different ecosystems and can be found throughout the park. Let’s remember that bears are untamed creatures.
And even though most will try avoiding humans, they can become aggressive when put in varied situations. Many aggressive communications between bears and humans occur when a bear perceives that their young or food supply is in jeopardy.
As with any other busy park, car accidents are the riskiest factor to think about when traveling through this national park. But there’s also the possibility of collapsing from rugged terrain. Falls were the reason for 21 of the 48 confirmed deaths here in the last ten years.
Because these trails are steep and rugged, any medical incident, like a heart attack on the path, is life-threatening because emergency personnel takes so long to reach the park. Coming prepared is the most vital part of staying safe in the bear park.
