These people have a gift for making peace between quarreling friends or disgruntled coworkers. If you’re like this, perhaps you’ve noticed that, even when you were younger, you could easily cheer up frustrated parents or calm sibling battles.
This skill has a bunch of components, all of which relate to intelligence. People with high IQs are able to read the body language of others, which can give them the first clues to conflict. They use these signals to ask questions, then listen emphatically to find out the full story from both sides. They also encourage those involved to take other perspectives into consideration and help strategize potential solutions to the issue.
Getting along well with others doesn’t always translate to academic genius; however, most experts agree it’s a useful form of intelligence.
